TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Paulius Murauskas poured in a career-high 33 points, Bryce Ford had 17 points off the bench, and Arizona State defeated Northern Colorado 90-63 on Friday night.

Murauskas, a senior transfer from Saint Mary's, had reached 30 points twice previously in his career. The 6-foot-8 forward from Lithuania was 13-for-18 from the floor and 2-for-3 from deep and was the only starter in double figures for the Sun Devils (2-0).

Filip Malesevic grabbed 11 rebounds in 24 bench minutes, and Joel Foxwell dished out eight assists.

ASU shot 54% from the floor and 32% from deep, grabbed 40 rebounds to Northern Colorado's 32, and forced 12 turnovers to cruise to the win.

The Sun Devils (2-0) were also dominant in the paint, scoring 48 points.

The Bears (1-1) saw Manning Shareef score 13 points, Hunter Caldwell add 11, and Andrew Crawford and Vincent Delano score 10 each.

First-year Sun Devils coach Randy Bennett, who arrived in Tempe after 25 seasons at Saint Mary's, is just nine wins away from 600 in his career.

The two teams met for just the second time and first time since 2006, a 66-51 ASU win.
